Ive been looking around all day for the best drum solos I could find and download. I came up with a lot: 1980-12-13 Long Beach, 1986-02-14 Kaiser, 1980-11-26 Alligator Alley, 1988-07-29 Laguna Seca, and probably a lot more I have bookmarked to come back to later.
Just wondering if theres some great ones Im missing. Perhaps from a decade other than the eighties. What do you recommend?

10/18/78 with lee oskar on harmonica for a while is groovy
11/24/78 with hamza el din on drums is pretty sweet
12/28/79 the playin>drums>uncle johns band is out there, check that out for sure. imho the best show of 79 might as well listen to the whole thing
a number of the 84 drums are great with mickey and his balaphone, or was it a xylophone? fucked if i know but its cool

Thanks a lot everybody. Grateful you took the time to help me out. Richbutnotwealthy, yeah I suppose its not really a drum solo, but ya all get the idea. Thanks again.

Very cool, Ian...we had a thread months ago, deeply embedded, so lost, I am sure, but touched on this, and I pondered why there were so few solos that matched the likes of Ginger Baker, and someone, Tiger I think, had some interesting comments to offer, which escape me now...anyhow, rambling, but nonetheless appreciate the discussion.

The upshot of that post was that they improved over the years (for my early era, the best drums are associated with OOne, but generally short shrift...).

Hey Tell,

Ever check out this interesting and very mysterious drum action from 1968 with Vince Delgado and Shankar Ghosh?

Its pretty neat, you half expect to hear Ravi Shankar join in...

Will grab that one later; 'bout time to give it another listen and will focus on your point...

Thanks.
